Denise Austin is a fitness icon. I remember back in the days when I was involved with The Peoples Network,  A motivational and inspirational television program on the PrimeStar network,  Denise was one of the members on the faculty.

Although having a personal coach live and in person is the optimal way to better health and wellness, sometimes watching a video and having someone like Denise Austin guide you through various moves and techniques can be helpful.

Yes you have access to a professional fitness expert in your place of residence, you definitely want to look into that option. For some people, they prefer to exercise in the comfort of their own home rather than going to a gym or fitness center.

As we move closer to the coaster Rica event center project and building the facility and surrounding cabins, I am always looking for wellness professionals that want to participate in our collaborative vision.

In addition to physical exercise, it is also important to work on your mental state, and exercise your mind or your brain. This can be done through meditation and affirmations.

Although having a daily meditation routine, seems like a simple process, it is amazingly difficult to do in our busy western hustle lifestyle.

Learning to discipline your mind to create daily habits and routines around building up your mind body and spirit and creating a harmonic balance is vital to success and well being.

For me personally, one of the best ways I can condition myself into a routine, is by connecting it with some other habit that I do daily, such as taking a shower, or brushing my teeth.

Yoga Poses and Studio Ownership: The 3-Step Foundation

So… you are considering opening a Yoga Studio…

Yoga poses and Studio Ownership require two very different skill sets. However keeping harmony and balance in either or both is key.

LOCATION

Where do you want your studio?

You might think that a busy retail space is ideal. This may help with drive by traffic, but do you actually NEED drive by and walk by traffic? A busy traffic location will COST MORE. Another thought you might consider is an IDEAL area with a “ready to tap” community of like-minded people. These days with Social Media Advertising, it is much eaisier to find other Yoga and Fitness Enthusients.

 

Minneapolis has a lot of unique unusual old warehouses spaces. These spaces would be much more afforable than a space on a busy high traffic area like Uptown Minneapolis. Also, on a side-note, I know a guy in Costa Rica that has a development and is wanting to add a Wellness Center to the complex. (Might be a great opportunity calling you) 

 

MISSION

The big question of WHY are you opening a Yoga Studio?

Why are you wanting to open a Yoga Studio. Is it the money? Is it the lifestyle? Is it making a change in the world? Is it helping other people? Before you move forward, get REALLY CLEAR on your “WHY”. 

 

SUSTAINABLE

Not just ecologically, but also the FINANCE of running the business and making is profitable. Are going to earn enough money to pay yourself well, and also pay your teachers and trainers well? Will you be doing Retreats and other events to increase your income. Will you be able to pay the rent and keep the lights and heat on?

 

PS: My friend Nick has a development in Costa Rica and wants to add a Wellness Center to his complex. Costa Rica is a very energy sustainable country. (and has no army) Kinda cool.

The Travel Agency is Making a Huge Comeback

The travel agency was a business of the past, and is now making a huge comeback because Customer Service is essential from a consumer’s point of view.

The travel industry is one of the largest industries that I know of. Also, it fits nicely into the hospitality and tourism area and also entertainment which I have been involved with for many, many years.

Where will you go on your next vacation?

Travel is an industry that has been around for a very, very, very long time.  Think about it. We have been traveling since we walked out of the cave.

One of the interesting aspects of travel, is that the excitement happens before, during, and after the vacation.

A few years back, I joined a travel club called dream trips, and tried to market the business aspect of it.  Although their travel club membership had some really great deals in travel, it was difficult to sell memberships, usually because people are time broke and don’t have the time available to take multiple vacations.

I sometimes feel sorry for those people that work does 9 to 5 jobs.

In my personal travels, I have been to five different places in Brazil, many times to Jamaica, Mexico, Hawaii, England, Spain, Thailand and Bali. And recently Costa Rica.

there are obviously pros and cons with going into a business partnership for a business venture. 

In this video with business coach Marie Forlio  she will explain some of the red flags that you might want to watch for if you are considering going into business with a partner.

One of the red flags is the balance of business ethics between partners. If one person is a workaholic, and the other wants to outsource and values free time, there will be some conflicts. I say this because this was a situation that I was in my expedition management business with my business partner.

Before jumping into a business partnership look at all your options, and weigh out the benefits and the possible stumbling blocks.

In addition to business ethics, you will want to know each other’s long-term and short-term agenda for the business. For one it may be to grow the business and sell, while for the other it might be wanting to create a long-term job and leave a legacy for their children.

I heard somebody say that people do not think. I wonder if that is accurate? I think that man simply do not think. If people really did think, they would think positive thoughts and then attract positive results.

Why would people choose results they do not want?  Listen to the way people talk from time to time, they often talk about negative activities, which attracts negative result

Everything that you ever wanted is within you. All you need to do is tap the positive and you will reap the positive harvest.

When you ask for help, and you are looking for the right people, you will find the right answers.

Next time you are out in public, take notice of the conversations taking place around you. I am confident that you will find most people are complaining about their experiences.  This conversation of blaming, complaining and justifying, will attract that exact experience to the people that speak yet, and the people that listen to it.

This is why positive affirmations are so strong. And the successful people in the world have a positive attitude, because they are thinking of what they want and desire, rather than complaining about the things they do not want in life.

Email Marketing Software | GetResponse and Aweber

Email Marketing Software comes in a PLETHORA (I love that word) of options.

As I recall, the first email marketing software that I used was ConstantContact.  I set this up when I started my exposition company back in 2004. ( MediaMax Events and Expos )

If I knew then, what I know now, I would have put the ConstantContact affiliate program in my name instead of signing up direct, and I would still be making affiliate commissions on that account today, because Rick is still using it. (I sold that business in 2012)

The next email marketing software I used was, I believe, Aweber.  This is a common email marketing software still today, however when I was using it I experienced some challenges, perhaps because I was not sure of what I was doing at that time.  I then switch to GetResponse.

As of the date of this blog post, I am currently using GetResponse.

GETRESPONSE

GetResponse is the Email Marketing Software that I am currently using. The reason I like it, is because of the optional Landing Page feature. I have multiple landing pages that I created using their start from a draft options and their customizable pre-designed templates.

Another Email Marketing Software is Aweber. I used Aweber earlier on in my internet marketing career, but had some frustrations with it. (personally) You might like it. You can take a FREE TRIAL to find out.
