I interviewed a Reno Magician and his name is Dean Hankey

I interviewed a Reno magician and his name is Dean Hankey.

In the video below, you can watch our conversation as we talk about the business of show business. Dean shares some simple yet powerful ideas for those that want to either become full-time professional as an entertainer or performer. Or if they want to expand and accelerate their success.

Most people, think that marketing is all about getting huge numbers to see your offer. While talking with Dean, I learned that it is more about giving so you can receive, rather than pushing information.

We also talked about the power of words, because words have meaning. It is very important when communicating both in person or online that you choose the right words.

Here are some links to some of the offers available from Dean.

The VAST difference of Affiliate Marketing and Network Marketing

Here is the simple difference in my opinion.

AFFILIATE MARKETING – With affiliate marketing you earn your money from directly selling products and services. There is not recruiting involved, unless you are an affiliate broker.

NETWORK MARKETING – You earn your money from selling products directly as well as a percentage of the products sold by people you recruit.

The main differences in the two models, is the recruiting of other marketers.

With Affiliate Marketing it is 95% direct sales of products and services and maybe 5% or less time spent recruiting other marketers. With affiliate marketing, you are NOT REQUIRED to recruit other marketers. With affiliate marketing, you do not need to own or use the products or services.

With Network Marketing it is about 90% focused on recruiting other marketers into the network, and maybe about 5% direct selling to public. Most of the time, energy and money is focused on recruiting more marketers. With network marketing, you are usually required to purchase the products and services.

Personally, I’d prefer the flexibility and freedom of the Affiliate Marketing model.

Search Engine Optimization Training – Search engine optimization is a process of getting great quality and quantity of traffic for your website and will increase the visibility of your website and also your webpages for users when they search the web. Also referred to as SEO it’s the improvement of natural searching which is on pay results.

There are some basic steps for creating search engine optimization for your web posts. When you make a website, you want to choose the right URL. Also putting great titles and descriptions in each one of your post is very important. This also goes for when you create a webpage. You need to add all the text to all your images. This is very time intensive, but it is one of those things that needs to be done. You need to give some structure to your copy so that it is using the right headers and is easy to read. I am not sure how the search engines figure this all out, but they do.

There are a lot of elements to be used when attempting to be found on the Internet. You need to improve your website user experience first of all. You do this by writing great content, and make sure it is optimized for the search engine. You also need to establish back legs. You need to do this from getting other people to link to your site. It is also important to have a website that opens fast. Try not to add too many pictures because images slow down page loading.

SynergyCafe VIDEO Interview with Laura Pennington @sixfigurewriter

Laura Pennington is a freelance writer and entrepreneur who threw out her entire business model at the end of 2015. She was sick of working on unfulfilling contracts and outsourcing her work to subcontractors – a process that seemed to add far more work and frustration.

Instead of continuing down Burnout Boulevard, she fired half her clients and kicked off the new year with some commitments, one of which was to only work with clients and subcontractors who allowed her to grow her business the way she wanted to.

You’ll find all her best advice about building a fulfilling and sustainable business here. It’s where she will give you all the juicy details about building a strong digital team or using project management to stay on top of tasks.

One of the biggest changes in her business came when she hired her first VA. Although there was a learning curve, it’s when she finally started to see hours and energy come back to her own biz. You feel the same – you know you want to outsource, but you don’t know how. That’s what she is here to teach you.

So if you’re tired, overwhelmed, and sick of not having a business that fills you with joy or allows you to take time for yourself, deep breath: You got this.

Time Freedom and Efficient Meetings Events and Trade Shows

One on one coffee meetings may be a waste of time.

Taking the time to drive across town to meet one person for coffee, then having the meeting, purchasing coffee, then taking the time to drive back to your office maybe a very inefficient use of your time.

A more productive time use might be leveraging the power of video streaming online, or perhaps social media advertising.

Also one of my favorite methods of getting new business, is attending tradeshows and expos as an exhibitor. When you take the time to select a proper trade show or event, you can meet a lot of very qualified people in a very short time window.

Trade shows are very cost effective when done correctly. When done wrong they are very expensive.

Do you know your market niche?

Just the other day, I got a phone call from a entertainer (Jazz Musician) that attended the Minnesota Event Planners Expo.

Her question was, how do I connect with EVENT PLANNER‘s?

My first initial response was, what type of events are you interested in getting at?

There is a saying, that I don’t recall where it came from, and it goes like this. “If you do not know where you are going, then any direction will get you there.“

The reason I asked her what type of events she was interested in working, is because that would determine of where you would attempt to find that type of event planner.

There are corporate events, association connections and conferences, weddings, fairs, festivals, city celebrations and the list goes on and on.

I often say that Marketing is like algebra. Decide where you want to go, then add the activities and elements that will get you there.

If you have questions, feel free to contact me and we can discuss it.
