The MSP parking situation is out of control.
How are the retail businesses supposed to prosper, if people are not able to park near their store?
And the price of parking, has increased so high, that the consumer no longer has enough money left in their pocket to spend at the store. They spend all their money on parking their car.
I understand, that parking has been a good income source for parking lot ramps and they have had a good run with charging for parking. However, now that there are fewer and fewer retail stores in Minneapolis, there’s no need to go downtown.
It seems to me that the areas that have the most activity for bars, restaurants and retail stores are the places with free parking. Like west and and mall of America.
One of the benefits of being a member of the Synergy Collaborative is that your parking can be reimbursed in some circumstances.
I also have some ideas for retail merchants, so they can get more business into their locations. One of these ideas is to offer to pay for their parking.
This could be done with a direct mail postcard mailed to prospective clients, encouraging consumers to visit their location, and bring in the postcard to have parking reimbursed or reduced from there purchases at a certain amount.
The software I used to send my direct mail postcards, it’s called MailBoxPower and I also use it to send greeting cards and personalized gifts.
I called the software my Magic Marketing Tool because of the features it has for list building to generate leads, and also the automation feature that saves a lot of time.
